The interior blends Mr. Simonson’s original design with new and cleverly repurposed materials, creating a look at once clean and rustic.

A pair of black steel doors from the Palladian Hotel in Seattle open to the entry-level master suite.

It was recently refashioned in 2016 by House Healers and features a collection of historical architectural artifacts showcasing a century of Pacific Northwest history.

"As we all try to recycle our garbage, how about a recycled home? That's exactly what the "House Healers" are all about. Now this retro beauty that perches above a winding waterway is known as "Chinook House."      Michael King

Buckle your seatbelts and get ready for a transcendent journey through time and place through the psychically attuned, restorative interior design practice of House Healers. Using their natural gifts and cultivated eye, Heidi and Paul envision what it will take to restore the ailing house to health.

The House Healers live up to their name with this transformation!

This home was in total disrepair when the current owner found it, but she recognized the architectural history and the beautiful setting, snapped it up and went to work, with her business partner, to restore it to its original mid-century grandeur.

House Healers..." worked to blend stone, concrete, wood and metal throughout the residence. In doing so, they created a home where seemingly incompatible elements coalesce into a space that is quintessentially modern while maintaining a classic 1950s feel."   Kristen O'Brien

Magical estate with window-walled, loft-like lodge presiding over gracious gardens and creek-fronted northwest woodland. A sleek, lush and private sanctuary, minutes from urban amenities and outdoor recreation, for eclectics and connoisseurs, dreamers and entertainers, nature lovers and history buffs.

...a midcentury gem dubbed Heron House, is now available. Refurbished by House Healers, this 3,300 square-foot residence is now a mixture of midcentury elements and historical Pacific Northwest architectural artifacts.

Just a few blocks from Northgate mall sits a mid-century modern masterpiece that was rescued from abandonment by Seattle-area general contractors Heidi Schor and Paul Damen, who call themselves House Healers. They restored the frame of the home and added reclaimed items from schools, hotels and other homes in the area.

Just a year ago, the Chinook House in Matthews Beach was an plain, standard basement rambler from the 1970s—despite its relatively large size, just stunningly unexceptional. But looking at the before photos from when it was listed in the spring, the effect is jarring. It’s really hard to believe it’s the same house.

"The Chinook House is a jaw-dropping remodel from recycled materials."   Curbed
